How do babies learn? You may think that baby eat, sleep, and cry only. But a long the way your babies are learning too. How? Babies learn through playing. 1. Sit up right 

Step 1: Let your baby lie on his / her back with feet pointing towards you.
Step 2: Gently hold their hands pull them up so that they are sitting facing you.
Step 3: Then give them a huge smile and a well done cheer.

Repeat step 1 to step 3 and make this fun.

2. PeekaBOO

Step 1: Hide your face with your hands or cloth

Step 2: Move your hand or cloth away and say PeekaBoo.

Step 3: Make sure you smile and make it fun. 

3. Opening Letters

Step 1: Get a pile of Junk mail letters, sit opposite them on the floor

Step 2: Get them to help you with opening the letters by simply tearing it

Step 3: Teach them to throw the letters in the bin.

Babies love to play with papers. Just keep an eye as some papers are sharp, it may cut their hands. 

This can help with improving their hand motor skills. 

Whenever there is letter let them help you open it, they will know what to do in future when they see letters. 

4. Mommy See, Mommy Do

Step 1: When your baby is vocalizing with 'kooo', baby language, you imitate the baby language                too. 

Step 2 : When baby smiles, you smile back too. 

What can we learn from this activity? This activity of imitation help them build confidence and let them realize they have a companion. 

5. Fabric play with your baby

Step 1: Prepare a few pieces of fabric let them play with it.

Step 2: While they are playing supervise them by letting them know the name of the fabric. 

This will not only help them increase their knowledge on fabric but also let them experience the texture of the fabric and improve their sensory experience. Touch this and touch that. 

6. Shake it, Rattle it

Step 1: Rattle his/her toy

Step 2: Move the rattle away from her sight and continue rattling it. 

Step 3: Stop the rattle a while and continue rattling it

By Rattling the rattle, the baby is sensitive to the sound, new born babies has great hearing ability. Besides hearing, it helps baby to identify the object as a toy by seeing and touching the rattle. By rattling, the baby will know it is fun time. 

7. Reading nursery Rhyme to them 

You may recite nursery rhyme to them when they are bathing, when they are in the car, before they sleep. This will help them improve listening skill and language skills. I still remember when i was young every night before sleeping, my mom will tell us our bed time stories. 

8. Catch and Throw

You can play ball with your baby as long they can catch it and throw it. 

Step 1: Find a ball designed for babies

Step 2: Try to giving the ball to the baby and see what she tries to do. 

Step 3: Show her different way to roll the ball or throw the ball. 

When your baby gets older, your baby will know how to imitate you and come out with her own creative game.

9. Identifying Body Parts

Step 1: Hold the babies index finger and point it to the nose, and say NOSE

Step 2: Repeat step 1 by point the finger on your nose and say NOSE.
Step 3: Repeat 1 and 2 by pointing to other body parts, you may start by focusing on the face area, eye, ear, mouth, nose.

This activity helps make the baby develop vocabulary skill. Do not make it too hard. Make it fun because babies learn best and fast through playing. 

10. Listen and Sing a long

 Baby loves music. Babies just loves to listen to music. You can sing along with your babies let them listen to different kinds of musics. As time goes by, you will be able to identify her favorite song or music.

11. Guess what's over my head

Step 1: Tie or tape some ribbons, interesting streamers onto a wooden spoon and dangle them                    gently over and in front of your baby's face.

Step 2: Take a  scarf and fling it into the air, letting it settle on your baby's head.

Step 3: Tie a toy to an elastic string (like the kind used for cat toys) and bounce it up and down in              front of your baby's face, saying "Boing! Boing!" every time it descends.

Remember, never leave your baby alone with strings or ribbons that could encircle his neck or that he could get into his mouth.

12. Who is in the mirror? 

Baby are always curious. Just let them explore playing with mirrors, just make sure you are there to supervise and keep a look. Babies love new experience. You will be amazed of their reaction, they will smile, they will touch the mirror, thinking they are making new friends. They are not aware that it is their reflection.

13. FUNNY faces

Baby loves funny faces. You go near the baby puff your cheek and make funny face and you will be amaze how happy they are seeing you.
